Trogir is a Dalmatian city located at the sea strait facing the island of Čiovo, at the western entrance to Kaštela Bay (former Salonitan Bay). Territorially it belongs to Split-Dalmatia County. It is only 6 kilometers away from Split Airport (SPU)
Truly rich in historical heritage, the city started as an Illyrian settlement, evolves into the Greek settlement of Tragurion; and in the 1st century BC, it becomes the Roman municipality of Tragurium. The historical core is formed by the castle and the tower surrounded by the city walls.
A must-see is the famous Cathedral of St. Lawrence, a monumental basilica built more than four centuries. It is even more interesting because of the beautifully decorated Romanesque portal made by Master Radovan.
